Welcome to my Music Diary.
I am a huge fan of music. I'm just as inspired from the latest music videos and iconic throwback performers, as I am by the latest fashion shows.
Love an eclectic mix of hip hop, r&b, soul, classic rock, alternative, pop, new wave and anything innovative.
I love the influence music has on fashion, art, and pop culture- and the influence those things have on music.
I LOVE music- new and old-- couldn't live without it. Here are some of my new obsessions, and some of my all-time loves.
So, listen. Comment. Enjoy.

Stevie Wonder-- Ummm...Every Album I've ever heard.
![Stevie_Wonder_Talking_Book-[Front]-[www.FreeCovers.net]](http://flashlit.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54fd2f9d6883401116866ad9f970c-200wi)
Stevie is the best of the best of the best. I don't even know what I can say to express how much I love his music. He has so many amazing songs--too many favorites to list here. But- the ones in my playlist right now are: Superstition, Living For The City, I Wish, Higher Ground, Pastime Paradise, Love Having You Around and Girl Blue.
And his album covers were pretty ridiculous too. That "Hotter Than July" cover is one of those images that have stayed in my mind and inspired me for years. Love love love love love.
Marvin Gaye--Too many favorites...

Marvin Gaye was such a special artist. So many amazing songs- and songs with substance. Some of my favorites: Got To Give It Up, What's Going On, I Want You, God Is Love, You're All I Need To Get By, and his rendition of Yesterday.
John Lennon/The Beatles--Every album was good.

John, Paul, Ringo and George. Thank you so much for your amazing music. (And Paul- thank you for producing such a talented daughter- Stella McCartney (my favorite designer).) The Beatles made some of the best music that exists. And John Lennon's iconic music helped fuel the 60's peace movement. I have so many favorite songs. These are in my shuffle right now: Let It Be, Blackbird, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Glass Onion, Not Guilty, I've Got A Feeling, Something, Instant Karma (We All Shine On), Stand By Me, and Watching The Wheels.
Aretha Franklin--Aretha's Gold

Aretha's music is powerful and is the perfest feel-good music. Baby I Love You is one of my all-time favorite songs. And Going Down Slow is another great one.
Bill Withers--Ain't no Sunshine // Lean On Me

Otis Redding--Change Gonna Come

I'm pretty sure "Change Gonna Come" was originally sung by Sam Cooke. But Otis Redding could sing the hell out of any song. I mean- he put so much heart and soul into every song. And the content of this song in combination with his soulful singing- made this song one of the most amazing songs I've ever heard. I think this song is a lot of people's favorite.
Donny Hathaway--A Song For You

"A Song For You" was originally written by Leon Russell, which is also amazing. But, the way Donny sings this-- is just incredible.
Nina Simone--Anthology

Feeling Good and Sea Lion Woman are two of the coolest songs I've ever heard. And i think Talib Kweli sampled her for "Get By" (My favorite song of his).
Bob Marley--Legend

Self explanitory. I've listened to "Legend" hundreds of times and it never gets old. I don't even have any favorites specifically because I love the album as a whole. Bob is amazing... And if you are a fan- definitely check out Chant Down Babylon. A bunch of cool artists remixed his music. My favorite songs on the album are Turn Your Lights Down Low (with Lauryn Hill), Rebel Music (with Krayzie Bone), and Roots, Rock, Reggae (with Aerosmith).
Sly & The Family Stone--The Essential

Sly has like the coolest voice ever. I have a bunch of his songs shuffling through my ipod. But "If You Want Me To Stay" is one of my favorite songs of all time. Feel-good music.
Bob Dylan--The essential

Jimi Hendrix--Experience Hendrix

John Butcher--If Wishes Were Horses

This song is kind of unknown to the rest of the world. But I'm in love with it. My mom had the tape- and I ruined it growing up from rewinding back to this song over and over and over. Love his raspy vocals and the reverb-y guitar.
Jeff Buckley--Grace

This is a ridiculous album. Soulful, mesmerizing, a little melancholy. Hallelujah is an insanely beautiful song. So sad that Jeff Buckley died so young.
Lauryn Hill/The Fugees--The Score // Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill // Mtv Unplugged

I love Lauryn Hill. I miss Lauryn Hill... Like kanye said, "I know Lauryn's heart is in Zion. But I wish her heart was still in rhymin'."
Raphael Saadiq--Instant Vintage

Erykah Badu--Live Album (1997) // Worldwide Underground

Jill Scott--Who Is Jill Scott?

Amazing album. "A Long Walk" is the chillest coolest song ever. And I absolutely love "He loves Me (Lyzel In E Flat)".
A Tribe Called Quest-- Midnight Merauders

Missy Elliott--Supa Dupa Fly

Black Eyed Peas-- Behind The Front

Prince--Purple Rain Soundtrack // and a bunch of other good ones...

Prince is out of his mind- but he's a ridiculous talent. Songs like 7, When Doves Cry, Raspberry Beret, The Beautiful Ones and the whole Purple Rain Soundtrack. (I love that movie too...)
Bjork--Greatest Hits Album

Kanye West--College Dropout // 808s & Heartbreak

I don't care what anybody says- I love Kanye West. My favorite ever Kanye songs; Jesus Walks, Spaceship and Never Let Me Down; are from his first album (College Dropout). And newest favorites; Street Lights, Amazing, Love Lockdown and Welcome To Heartbreak; are from his latest album (808s and Heartbreak). Oh- and I LOVE the live bonus track at the end of the album.
N.E.R.D.--In Search Of...

Gnarls Barkley--St.Elsewhere // The Odd Couple

So, I know Gnarls Barkley haven't been around that long. But the fact that I have loved every single sing off of both of their album- and they have all been in the Ipod shuffle since the day I bought the albums. And still remain to be one of the groups I am most excited about has earned them a spot on this list. I LOVE them. Love their unique style.
Moby--Play

Weezer--Blue Album
